Shoe Glue 9/1/98 8:36 AM, finished 10/1/98 4:48 PM Charles Dum Living my life in misery I try my best each day. "How long," I ask "On this Earth am I to stay?" I get up wake up, Drink coffee by nine- What about you? It's probably wine. Start working my mind And challenging my brain While you smoke your cigarette And your teeth get a stain. "I'll see you in Hell!" You proclaim to me As I pause a minute And look up to see. But dissapear From sight You go, Take flight. So I'm left alone In the darkness of time, The tasks of this world (like glue) To my soul does bind. Well I'll stick around, This glue tells me so- But try and make me leave? No- I'll go when I go.
